Figure 1 is titled "The Alaska Natural Gas Transportation System." It shows a map of North America. A dotted line representing the proposed pipeline route runs from Alaska's North Slope in the North through Alaska, Yukon, British Columbia, and Alberta to a point in central Alberta. From there, a bifurcated solid line representing existing pipeline runs through Alberta and southeastern British Columbia and to the western United States on one side, and through Alberta and southern Saskatchewan into the American midwest on the other side.

Figure 2 is called "The Foothills Prebuild" and is a close-up of the bifurcated line in Figure 1. The line starts at Caroline, Alberta and runs in a southwesterly direction to the U.S. border near Kingsgate, British Columbia on one side and in a southeasterly direction through Saskatchewan to the U.S. border near Monchy, Saskatchewan on the other. The map indicates a meter station at Kingsgate. It also indicates compressor stations on the eastern "leg" at Acme, Crawling Valley, Jenner, Richmond, Piapot, Frenchman River, and Monchy, and meter stations at Richmond and Monchy. There is also a decompression/recompression facility at Empress on the Alberta/Saskatchewan border.
